RETREATS AND EXPERIENCES
Make room for what becomes possible together.
Time together can open a conversation that has been waiting, a clearer sense of direction, or a renewed connection to one another.
Movement Makers designs and facilitates retreats, workshops, and gatherings for leaders, teams, boards, and communities. Each experience is shaped around the people involved, what they are navigating, and what they want to become possible together.
Begin with what brings people together.
You may be entering a new season, working through tension, or making time to consider where you are going. You may want to deepen relationships, explore an idea, or reconnect with the purpose that first brought you into the work.
An experience may fit when:
- A team or board wants to clarify direction, roles, or shared commitments.
- A transition is asking people to understand one another in new ways.
- An important conversation needs time and thoughtful facilitation.
- Leaders want to reflect on who they are becoming alongside what they are building.
- A group wants to turn learning into something people can practice.
- A community or coalition is exploring what it can create together.
We begin by understanding the intention. That gives the gathering its shape.
WAYS TO GATHER
Different intentions call for different experiences.
Retreats
Dedicated time for leaders, teams, boards, or communities to reflect, reconnect, and consider what comes next. A retreat creates room for honest conversation, shared direction, and renewal.
Facilitated conversations and processes
Carefully held conversations for groups navigating decisions, tension, changing roles, or questions of shared responsibility. We bring structure that allows people to hear different perspectives and work toward a useful next step.
Workshops and learning experiences
Interactive sessions that bring ideas into relationship with everyday life and work. Participants reflect, explore relevant practices, and consider how to carry the learning into their own context.
Community and movement gatherings
Experiences that bring people around a shared intention. These gatherings make room for different histories and perspectives while developing the relationships and commitments that collective work requires.
These forms can overlap. A retreat may include learning and decision-making. A workshop may open a conversation that continues through a longer partnership.
HOW WE DESIGN
The gathering begins before people enter the room.
Understand the context
We begin with the purpose, participants, relationships, and history. We clarify what needs attention and what would make the time meaningful.
Shape the experience
We design the conversations, practices, pacing, and transitions around that intention. Reflection, participation, and rest each have a place.
Prepare with care
We agree on what participants need before gathering, including useful context, reflection, and practical information. We discuss accessibility, comfort, and different ways to participate as part of the design.
Gather with presence
Sean Goode leads the facilitation, joined by clearly named collaborators when the experience calls for them. We hold the agreed intention while remaining attentive to what people are bringing and what emerges.
Carry the work forward
We close by making sense of what was heard, learned, or decided. Where there are next steps, we clarify the commitments, who will carry them, and how people will return to them.
People deserve to understand what they are being invited into and have choice in how they participate.
THE SHAPE OF THE EXPERIENCE
Give the work the time it needs.
Experiences may take place over a half day, a full day, or multiple days. The right shape depends on the intention, number of participants, relationships involved, and depth of work.
Before we begin, we agree on preparation, facilitation, responsibilities, any written materials or follow-up, and investment.
A focused gathering may stand on its own or sit within a sustained organizational partnership. When ongoing coaching, advising, or culture work would serve what comes next, we can discuss that together.
SPEAKING AND FACILITATION
Find the right form for your gathering.
A keynote brings people together through story and ideas. A facilitated experience gives participants time to reflect, hear one another, practice, and work through questions together. Some gatherings benefit from both.

What do you want this time together to make possible?
Tell us who is gathering, what is happening, and what you hope the time will open. If you have a date, location, or format in mind, share that too.
You can begin with a question. We’ll work together to understand what the gathering needs and whether Movement Makers is the right partner.
